Tuesday, January 26 Update Thanks so much for everyone's participation. We have shipped 700 care kits to Heart to Heart for use in their Haiti relief efforts. We truly have lived out "Extending the Hand of God" this week. Thanks to all who gave your time and energy to make this happen. Stay tuned, there will be many more opportunities to get involved. Friday, Jan. 22 Update Thanks to all your help and a great turnout last night, we were able to package 320 complete kits ready to ship. And that's not all, we have 380 more kits at least partially completed, which will take our total up to 700. Here's what we need to finish the partial kits: - 220 Hand Towels - 132 Washcloths - 100 Bars of Soap - 135 Travel size tubes of Toothpaste - 170 Individually-wrapped Tooth Brushes - 60 Combs - 1600 Band-aids We will be accepting items on Sunday, January 24, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) as well as Tuesday, January 26, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Volunteers will be needed on Tuesday to help receive donations and complete the packaging. . Thanks! Generations Church is partnering with Heart to Heart International to provide crisis care kits to send to the country of Haiti. These personal hygiene kits help earthquake survivors fend off germs and disease that linger long after a crisis hits the region. We are collecting monetary donations as well as items to go into the Crisis Care Kits. Below is a list of items needed for each kit: • One new hand towel • One new washcloth • One wide-tooth comb • One small bottle of shampoo • One new individually wrapped toothbrush • One travel size tube of toothpaste • Ten (10) adhesive bandages • One individually wrapped bath size bar of soap • One plastic travel size soap dish • Two (2) one-gallon size zipper seal bags There is also a Crisis Care Kit pdf flyer available for download. Feel free to print and hang up in public areas. South Campus is having a drop off time on Thursday, January 21 from 4pm to 7pm. Volunteers are needed from 7pm to 9pm to assemble the kits.
